Frequently Asked Questions

Do you use chemicals? How do you get rid of the poison ivy?
No chemicals are used in the removal. A pick-axe, shovel, rake, hoe and garden fork are used to loosen the dirt, vines and roots are removed to a plastic/paper bag.
What do you do with the poison ivy once it is taken away?
The bags are emptied at a local brush pile, only further to be handled by heavy machinery.
Are you allergic? What precautions do you take?
I will get the rash if exposed to the urushiol oil (sap). Two layers of clothing are worn, two pairs of gloves, high boots, painter sock over the head and safety glasses. A hood is always worn when working with vines on a tree greater than 5 feet in height.
What kind of clean up methods do you use?
ALWAYS WASH WITH DISH DETERGENT AND COLD WATER AFTER WORKING OUTSIDE!
All clothes are washed with regular laundry detergent using hot water. Tools and boots are only handled with gloves, and occasionally left in the back of the truck through the car wash.
How do you know you got all the poison ivy, roots and all?
Any missed vines/roots will make themselves visible by regrowing new leaves after several good rains, which may take a couple of months.
What is your service area?I provide service to all of MA and Southern NH. If you are not located in this area and need my help shoot me an email and we can discuss it further.
How much does it cost? How long does the guarantee last?
Most yards cost between $300-$600. The guarantee includes up to three return visits for one year.
